Samsung couldn’t put a foot wrong these days. They are on a roll with releasing successful set of smartphones where the Galaxy S II sits on top like a king. After tasting success, Samsung sends out another powerful phone in to the market in the new Android powered Galaxy S Advance. There are certainly a lot of expectations for this phone and we’ll find out if it lives up to its predecessors.
Samsung Galaxy S Advance Design
The phone tries to look both stylish and simple at the same time and does a pretty good job of it. The curvy edged design is nothing new to us as we’ve seen it before in Samsung phones but that’s not a bad thing as it has worked for Samsung every time. The Galaxy S Advance weighs 120g and sports a 4.0 inch Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen which is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass. Samsung’s trademark TouchWiz UI makes an appearance and it certainly delivers a great experience. The presence of a physical button in between two touch sensitive buttons isn’t something new as well.
Samsung Galaxy S Advance Hardware
Being true to its name, there are many “Advance” feature on this powerhouse from Samsung. The processor is a Dual Core 1.0 Ghz Cortex A-9 and a whopping 768MB of RAM. The internal memory is either 8GB or 16GB depending upon the version and if that’s not enough, you can always expand it up to 32GB with a microSD card. That means you can have access 48GB (32+16) of storage memory alone.
The Galaxy S Advance packs adequate connectivity options with Bluetooth 3.0, microUSB support and WiFi a/b/g/n with support to set up WiFi hotspots. Samsung also includes an additional “Find my Mobile” which is a very useful feature. This enables you to remotely delete your data if your phone ever gets lost.
Samsung Galaxy S Advance Camera, OS & Other features
The Galaxy S Advance has a 5MP camera with autofocus and a LED flash. It can also record videos 720fps and includes features like Geo-tagging, touch focus, face and smile detection. There is a 1.3MP front facing camera for video calling purposes. Galaxy S Advance runs the Android Gingerbeard(v2.3) which means that Samsung is sticking to the old success formula. A-GPS Support is available along with FM Radio, Document viewer, SNS integration and many more built-in applications.
The phone’s media player can play DivX format out of the box along with all other major formats. This is a very good feature as watching a movie on the 4.0 inch screen is really a pleasurable experience. It also has a 3.5mm jack for audio input which means you can use your own headphones for listening to music.

There’s a reason why Samsung is leading the smartphone race and it is because it makes phones like the Galaxy S Advance. It is a fully equipped phone with all the necessary features stuffed into it. This would be a perfect choice of a smartphone for anyone who could afford it.
